Transition from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 used Standard install

Hi,

I have a single Exchange 2003 server and installed new hardware and an exchange 2010 server.

I chose typical install and it installed. I'm remembering from an older install of exchange that I chose custom ( after this was already installed).

I've got connectivity and things flowing back and forth from the 2003 server and seems to be problem free.

When I go into the EMC I see the "legacy mailboxes" from the other server and I'm worried I messed something up. All users can connect to the old 2003 as I haven't done a local move on the exchange EMC yet. What am I missing? Should I uninstall and reinstall 2010 using the custom mode?
