i have 4 exchange 2007 sp1 on windows 2003 64 bit all of them, I installed Exchange 2007 sp2 on 2 CAS/HUB Servers sucess , When try to run Ex 2007 sp2 on Passive node of MBX server i got this message " Please go to the control panel to install and configure system components" , .Net framework 2 is installed and also .net framwork 3 installed and also installed windows installer 4.5 but still get same message. i usedboth setup.exe and setup.com and still same issue.

how i can fix it this issue on oassive node and active node also. shall install windows power shell??

Exchange 2010 and voice mail integration for landline connection

We have exchange 2010 on win2008 and we have landline phone with numbers. Our business requires to integrate two numbers to receive feedback / complaint calls and record the voice and route it to few user mailbox for listening the voice mail.

We do not have epbx system or voice gateway. Can i achieve this in simple way with the existing setup.

Assigning public certificate to Exchange 2010 POP3/S

Dear All,

I have Exchange 2010 (single server with 4 roles) with named xyz.com. It works well with self signed certificate for POP3/SSL. Recently we updated the UCC SAN certificate from godaddy and implemented for pop, activesync, autodiscover, webaccess and Outlook anywhere.

I am facing two issues with my mail server:

one is outlook anywhere isn't working fine, when i tried with testexchangeconnectivity.com i got the following.

Testing HTTP Authentication Methods for URL https://mail01.xyz.com/rpc/rpcproxy.dll?MAIL.xyz.com:6002.

The HTTP authentication test failed.

Additional Details
A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from IIS7.

secondly pop3/ssl does not work after importing the certificate and removing the self signed certificate from exchange 2010 console. Again i created self signed certificate in exchange then it started working. I want the pop3/ssl working with the public certificate which i bought.

Please help how to resolve this issue.

SiteA:

serverA:mailbox1:10.100.2.2

serverB:cas1:10.100.2.3

serverC:HT1:10.100.2.4

serverD:mailbox2:10.100.2.12

serverE:cas2:10.100.2.13

serverF:HT2:10.100.2.14

SiteB:

serverG:mailbox3:10.200.3.12

serverH:cas3:10.200.3.13

serverI:HT3:10.200.3.14

Linux Load Balance/NAT:mail.abc.com:202.123.123.123

All my exchange servers are Internal, our load balance will perform the NAT. hence, internet user can access their mailboxes externally.

If i move the mailbox1 database to serverG, which is located at different site/subnet. When user access the CAS on siteA(pointed by NAT), they will not able to access their mail. they will receive error like:

"A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account. Please close all Web browser windows and try again in a few minutes. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk."

and sometime :

"Outlook Web App isn't available. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk".

But if user access the cas and on same site with the mailbox database they are in, there wont by any issue.

Event 1006: unable to process mailbox move requests

Hi,
on an exchange 2010 server I keep getting this warning in my event log:
Event 1006
Source: MSExchange Mailbox Replication

The Mailbox Replication service was unable to process mailbox move requests in a mailbox database.
Database: Mailbox Database 2069811620
Error: MapiExceptionUnknownUser: Unable to open message store. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1003)

In fact, database " Mailbox Database 2069811620" doesn't exists anymore, it has been deleted.. why is replicaiton service still looking for it? What does it want to do?
How can I say it that that database doesn't exist anymore and not to look for it?

Cannot delegate access to all mailboxes in database by powershell

I can give any access right to mailboxes whether by powershell ( Get-mailbox | Add-ADPermission) or EMC

But setting rights on maildatabase level doesn't apply to mailboxes

Exchange 2010 using Symantec DLP (Vontu) Message Sending Slow

Recently my organization has moved away from a 3rd party Edge Server and implemented Exchange 2010 Edge Servers.  Mail flow is going from the HUB Server to the EDGE through Symantec's Vontu DLP product in reflect mode.

We are seeing that messages over 3 MB in size are taking, in some cases, hours or days to send.  If I remove Vontu from the picture and route directly to the EDGE servers, all messages are processed and sent within seconds.

Symantec cannot figure out the issue and I was hoping that someone here may have the product in house and some insight to a configuration change needed.

OWA - March 10, 2013

In OWA 2010 I create an appointment on March 10, 2013. I set the appointment to all-day. Instead of the appointment showing as a horizontal bar at the top of that day it displays as a vertical bar and fills the entire day. I was able to reproduce this with multiple accounts and multiple calendars, mailbox and public folder. The issue does not occur on other days. Outlook 2013 displays correctly and the issue does not occur in OWA 2007. It does not matter if the appointment is created in Outlook or OWA. Does anyone know what is causing this?

1) Under Default Web Site in IIS, click on OAB
2) If Win2003(IIS 6) go to properties and HTTP headers,if Win2008(IIS7) open the HTTP headers option.
3) Here click on Mime types and check whether we have the LZX format listed.
4) If yes you can ignore the steps, if not present then we need to create the new extension for LZX.
5) Extension: .lzx
    MIME TYPE: application/octet-stream
6) Perform IISRESET

i have server 2008 but  not see HTTP headers option

please help me

Exchange Server 2010 SP1 on second domain controller

I have wired setup that I need to fix.

There are two physical locations: Location A with domain controller DC01 which holds all FSMO roles

Location B with domain controller EXDC01 which is GC

Exchange Server 2010 SP1 is installed on EXDC01 and it works fine as long as DC01 is available.

Somehow Exchange server is using DC01 for all settings (DC, CDC and GC)

If I point Exchange server to EXDC01 (itself) using static settings, it won't start services

In event log it complains it cannot talk to CDC.

I tested connection to that server using LDP and using telnet to all AD TCP ports and all works fine.

There are no configuration errors that I could find since I replicated environment in the lab and experienced same issue:

- Install DC01 - Windows 2008 R2

- Run dcpromo

- Install EXDC01

- Run dcpromo

- Install exchange server

FTP authorization with asp.net

I try to publish an FTP site based on asp.net 4 through IIS. I enabled basic Authentification and disable Anonymous Authentification.  in FTP authorization I enabled a windows acount (which I created) named:FTP.

when I try to log in thruogh cmd I get an error. This is the code in cmd:

"C:\Windows\system32>ftp 10.100.101.100 Connected to 10.100.101.100.

220 Microsoft FTP Service User (10.100.101.100:(none)): FTP

331 Password required for FTP. Password:

530-User cannot log in. Win32 error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Error details: Anonymous authentication is not allowed.

530 End

Login failed. "

any ideas why doesn't it succeed login?

Not able to open owa internally through local host in hub/cas server

Hi

  We are having exchange server 2010 sp1 rollup 7, able to browse owa from externally working fine. Same owa link iam able to browse from my mail servers. Only issue is not able to browse owa thorugh IIS likehttps://localhost/owa.  

 Getting error like this..

HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found

The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.

Multiple Domain Names to One Exchange Server

after Configure Multiple Domain Names to One Exchange Server cannot send mail to Hotmail but can send to yahoo or gmail and check  the smart host server report Message is delivered ?

1- no NDR

2- ip not in the spam(black) list

3- all domains set to one real IP

Add new HUB servers to existing Exchange 2010 deployment

Hi,

I need to deploy additional servers with HUB roles into existing configuration.

I'm pretty confident with most of the steps, however one thing that I'm not sure about it is the transaction logs and DB.

Do I need to copy the existing files from the other servers into the new ones or will I be fine with new files that will be created on the existing servers.

At the end of the deployment, I am going to take down the existing servers so only the new ones will work.

DAG 2010 Recommendation

Hi,

Can anyone help me find out what is the best recommendation for DAG DB that will support 2000 users?

I know that MS is recommending DB at 2TB size, but taking into consideration that at crisis time, running eseutil on 2TB is almost impossible, or at least will take me hours.

I need to find out what is the best\optimal configuration, how many Mailbox servers should I deploy, amount and recommended size for each DB.
